Brazil’s exports to Arab countries top $9 billion; up 27%

The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) reported that Brazil’s exports to Arab countries surged by 27.13% in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period in 2021.

Exports rose from $7.712 to $9.803 billion, reflecting growing trade relations between Brazil and the Arab region.

Exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 31.9% from $1.215 billion in 2021 to $1.603 billion in 2022, while the UAE increased by 55.52% from $1.109 billion to $1.725 billion in the same period.

Likewise, Egypt reported an increase of 89.64% from $766.98 million to $1.454 billion. Qatar’s revenue increased by 43.15% from $171.25 million to $245.18 million, while Kuwait’s revenue increased by 55.17%, from $103.75 million to $161.55 million.

Osmar Chohfi, President of ABCC, said: “The latest figures reflect the growing trade relationship between the Arab world and Brazil. We will continue our efforts to promote trade prospects and partnerships between the two regions to improve trade relations. The mutual commitment of both parties helps Products from the Arab countries are finding new markets in Brazil, and trade figures are expected to rise in the coming year.”

Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, Brazil’s total beef exports to Arab countries increased by 62.14% compared to the same period last year. Beef exports have grown at an astonishing rate, with Saudi Arabia rising 27.86% from $97.03 million in the first six months of 2021 to $124.05 million in the last period of the year.

The UAE increased by 33.72% from $107.51 million to $143.76 million, while Qatar increased by 106.37% from $10.66 million to $22 million. Likewise, Kuwait reported a 227.57% increase from $3.49 million to $11.42 million, while Egypt reported a 152.58% increase from $118.29 million to $298.77 million.

Exports of chicken from the Arab countries from Brazil also increased by 40.97% between January 2022 and July 2022 compared to the same period last year. Saudi Arabia reported a 12.45% increase from $445.19 million to $500.61 million, while the UAE reported a 98.4% increase from $302.62 million to $600.39 million.

Qatar increased 75.41% to $115.5 million from $65.85 million, while Kuwait increased 39.77% to $123.34 million from $88.25 million. Meanwhile, Egypt reported an 8.99 percent increase from $34.26 million in the first six months of 2021 to $37.34 million in the same period this year. – arab trade news agency
