Breakbulk opens with heavy industry participation

The Breakbulk Middle East (BBME) 2023 kicked off on 13th February and witnessed strong interest from industry professionals, bringing the industry back together under one roof and strengthening its growth.

The high level of participation also demonstrates that industry stakeholders are eager to be part of a close-knit network that has been driving the industry forward over the past few years.

The first day of the exhibition and conference discussed opportunities in the MENA region, the most important projects in progress, the latest trends, the potential to open new markets and digitalization.

Speaking on the opening day, Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Eng Hassan Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri said, “The world has faced major challenges since the past three years due to supply chain disruptions due to the pandemic and The impact of geopolitical turmoil. The opening session, “Middle East and North Africa Project Review,” highlighted some of the most important projects in the region’s pipeline. Led by Ryan McPherson, Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS Director, EICUK Middle East (Division), the session provided insights into the potential economic impact of projects such as Saudi Arabia’s NEOM and King Salman Energy Park, and Qatar’s North Field East LNG Expansion Project. Opportunities for the expansion of the breakbulk and project freight sectors in markets such as Africa were also discussed during the same day during the session “Africa as an Opportunity Region: Outlook, Projects and Going to Market”.
