Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie made headlines after Gabby disappeared on a cross-country road trip. Brian returned home, and Gaby didn’t ask her family to report her missing. Brian quickly became a man of interest, which led the authorities to search for him.
Gabi’s body was found and identified, and her death was ruled a homicide. An autopsy report showed she died of strangulation, and a warrant was issued for Brian’s arrest. However, Brian was not found until next month.his property, guns, notebooks and backpacks in a protected area in Florida. Next to the items were human remains, later identified as Brian. An investigation determined that he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Months later, investigators revealed that Brian was responsible for Gabi’s death, which he admitted in his notebook.
according to ABC News, on Friday, the FBI revealed that in his notebook, Brian revealed that he was the one who killed Gabi. “A review of the notebook revealed that Mr Laudry claimed responsibility for Ms Petitto’s death,” they said in a statement.
Michael Schneider, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Denver branch, added: “In this case, all logical steps of the investigation have been concluded. The investigation has not found any direct involvement of anyone other than Brian Laudry. for the tragic death of Gaby Petitto.”
“We can only hope that with the conclusion of today’s case, each family can begin to recover and move on, finding peace in their children’s memories,” lawyers for the Laundrie family said in a statement.
In August, prior to Gabby’s disappearance, Utah authorities responded to a call after someone claimed they saw Brian slap Gabby in the face. Police stopped them for questioning but allowed them to leave, citing “insufficient evidence”. Gabby will disappear around August 27th.
