United Arab Emirates (UAE) astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, currently on a six-month space mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS), shared a breathtaking night view of Dubai from space on Wednesday.

On Twitter, Al Neyadi shared an image showing Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah, Jebel Ali and residential areas of Dubai, including the Jumeirah Village circle. “Dubai is almost as bright as the stars here,” he wrote.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, also shared the photo on his Twitter account, which he called “awe-inspiring”.

“Stunning photos of Dubai from the space station by UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi paint a picture of the country’s extraordinary achievements on Earth and beyond,” tweeted Sheikh Hamdan.

Since being shared, the photo has garnered more than 10,000 likes in total on both accounts. While many users called the photo “stunning”, others called it “beautiful” and “incredible”.

“This photo is not only an amazing work of art, but a reminder of the UAE’s commitment to innovation and excellence. We should all be proud of what our country has achieved on Earth and in space,” wrote one user. “It looks absolutely HUGE. A great shot! Well done,” said another.
