Milwaukee – Bronzeville Week is an eight-day celebration on the north side of Milwaukee.
Bronzeville is known as a cultural and entertainment district for a reason.
“Whether it’s the location of the Black Holocaust Museum in America, or some of the great artists on display through murals, who even live in the area, and African-American-owned businesses on King’s Road, all of which help to elevate art, Culture and entertainment in this area,” said Alderwoman Milele Coggs.
The second week of August is dedicated to celebrating it all, starting with a walk/run on Saturday, August 6th and a cultural arts festival on Sunday.
“It’s been a long time since the pandemic,” said Deborah Render, owner of GG Collections. “We’re so excited to be out there, and what better way to celebrate us, our craft and what we do What better time to go out?”
Render says Bronzeville Week is designed to bring people and businesses like her together.
“It’s not just black women or black men, we come together as a people on a deal,” Render said.

From fashion to food and even hair products, the week wouldn’t be possible without all the talent in the community.
“None of this would have been possible without the collaboration of so many people, including residents, the city, the philanthropic community and all the companies that invested in Bronzeville because they also believed in its beauty,” Coggs said.
