Brooge Energy Ltd, a Cayman Islands-based infrastructure provider currently engaged in clean petroleum products and biofuels, as well as crude oil storage and related services, today announced technology from thyssenkrupp Uhde for its green hydrogen and green ammonia plants Research has been approved. Done and delivered.
On September 21, 2022, Brooge Energy announced that it had hired ThyssenKrupp to conduct a technical concept study and cost estimate for a proposed green ammonia plant based on ThyssenKrupp Nucera’s alkaline water electrolysis and ThyssenKrupp Rupp Wood Ammonia Synthesis Technology.
The plant, planned to be constructed in two phases, will be an export-focused green ammonia production facility with a combined production capacity of 1,950 mtpd located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The plant will use water and air as raw materials to produce green ammonia from green hydrogen from solar energy.
The study involved a comprehensive techno-economic analysis of the electro-ammonia value chain using thyssenkrupp’s proprietary modeling tools. The goal is to assess the impact of various factors on the overall cost-effectiveness of a green ammonia plant. The analysis explores multiple scenarios to determine the optimal plant design along with various supporting documents addressing the technical and execution concepts in a fully integrated manner.
“This technology concept study is an important milestone in our transition to sustainable energy. The results of the study will help us identify the optimal setup for a green ammonia plant and guide our future investment decisions,” said Lina Salah Saheb said.
