Bruno Tonioli to replace David Walliams as judge on Britain’s Got Talent | Entertainment Television

former dance miracle Judge Bruno Tonioli has been announced to replace David Walliams on Britain’s Got Talent.

The Italian choreographer and dancer joins the judging panel for the ITV talent show alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

Williams, 51, was previously reported by The Guardian in November records make derogatory and sexually explicit remarks about the show’s contestants.

Tonioli, 67, said: “Here we are, Britain’s Got Talent. I’m so excited. It’s my first show and I don’t know what to expect, but I’m sure it’s going to be fantastic.”

Williams has been part of the judges line-up since 2012, but his position has been called into question after the Guardian saw a leaked transcript of offensive remarks made during an audition show for the London Palladium.

The TV personality and children’s author called one contestant a “bitch” and another: “She thinks you want to fuck her, but you don’t.”

At the time, he said in a statement: “I would like to apologize to those of whom I made disrespectful comments during a break in the filming of Britain’s Got Talent 2020. These were private conversations, like most conversations with friends, It was never meant to be shared. Still, I’m sorry.”

The first round of auditions returned to London’s Palladium Theater on Tuesday after weeks of speculation that Tonioli would replace Williams as part of the panel.

Co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were photographed entering a London theater with Britain’s Got Talent creator Cowell on Tuesday.

After joining the BBC One show in 2004, Tonioli was a Strictly Strict fan favorite. However, in 2022 it was announced that he would be quitting the celebrity dance competition, as his travel commitments made it impossible to continue.

In 2020, the uncertainty of pandemic travel meant that Tonioli could only appear via video link in Sunday night’s results presentation to pass judgment on Strictly’s performance.

Then, in 2021, he was replaced by longtime professional dancer Anton Du Beke, who joined the group along with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas.
