President Muhammadu Buhari will receive the “Africa Strengthening Peace Award” in Nouakchott, Mauritania on Tuesday for his leadership in promoting peace on the African continent through regular invention, advice and mediation positions.
Presidential Spokesperson Femi Adesina confirmed the development in a statement in Abuja on Sunday.
According to him, the award will be presented to the President by the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, a gathering of leaders established in 2014 to find new ways to embrace inclusive citizenship.
The Forum also promotes lasting peace and works to build a safer and more sustainable world for everyone.
The President will participate in plans for the third forum of the African Peace Conference pending international recognition for serving the greater good of peace in Nigeria and Africa.
Adesina said the president will address the milestones and outcomes of the African peace process.
According to the media aide, Buhari will leave for Nouakchott on Monday and return on Wednesday.
The President will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama, Defense Minister General Bashir Matthias, National Security Advisor General Babagana Monguno and the Ambassador of the Director of National Intelligence. Ahmed Rufai.
