As part of an official visit to the UAE, President of the Republic of Bulgaria Ruman Radev visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
He was accompanied by the UAE Ambassador to Bulgaria Sultan Rashid Sultan Alkaitoob and representatives of senior Bulgarian officials.
Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, accompanied the Bulgarian President and delegation on a tour of the mosque’s lobby and exterior corridors.
During the visit, a cultural tourism expert from the centre briefed them on the sublime message of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which emphasises the ideas of coexistence, tolerance and openness to culture, which have their roots in the country’s deceased The rich legacy of the founder.
They also learned about the history of the mosque, its components and the aesthetic characteristics of Islamic art and architecture, which are reflected in every corner of this magnificent building, which incorporates various architectural styles from different eras and reflects the commonalities between cultures, And unite the world through art. .
At the end of the tour, guests received two of the center’s featured publications.
The first, titled “Space of Light,” showcases the winning photos from the center’s annual “Space of Light” photography award to celebrate the mosque’s scenic aesthetic and visual culture.
The other is a copy of a book titled “House of God,” which deals with places of worship throughout Islamic history, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
Earlier, His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Ruman Georgiev Radev, who is on a working visit to the UAE.
At a reception at Qasr Al Shati’ Palace, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his hope that the visit will help open up new prospects for consolidating relations between the two countries in various fields for the benefit of the two peoples.
The two presidents explored avenues for cooperation between the UAE and Bulgaria, particularly in the areas of economy, investment, development and the environment, as well as renewable energy and food security, which are the main drivers of sustainable development in both countries.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional and global developments and issues of interest, stressing in this regard the importance of enhanced dialogue and constructive efforts to peacefully resolve conflicts and crises in certain parts of the world , to help the peoples of the world achieve their ambitions for peace, development and prosperity, and to promote regional and global security and stability.
