LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Leading Hollywood studios, networks and entertainment companies are teaming up with the Veterans of Media and Entertainment (VME) to host the fourth annual Veterans Entertainment Summit, a The two-day virtual event runs November 15th (9am-3pm PT) and November 16th (9am-12pm PT).

Last year, more than 500 veterans, active duty military and military families attended the virtual event, learning from more than 50 speakers across 17 unique sessions.Agenda includes live panel discussion with veterans and writers from Warner Bros. Television/CBS aluminum united states and CBS’s SEALs. The event also included sessions with game developers, as well as talks with creatives, executives and representatives from major industry unions.

This year, some of Hollywood’s biggest producers will share their stories, including Michael Uslan (film rights holder for the Batman films); writer/producer Tom DeSanto (X-Men and Transformers Franchise); Social Impact Producer Bonnie Abaunza (Rwanda Hotels, blood diamond); and Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning producer Bruce Cohen (american beauty and push daisy). You need skills to plan, coordinate, supply and execute, just like we learn in the military.”

“Veterans don’t always immediately think of the entertainment industry when they’re transitioning,” said VME Vice President Tom McCafferty. “The reality is that entertainment companies also need to hire corporate people with backgrounds in areas like accounting and business, IT, marketing and publicity.”

Iraq/Afghanistan veteran and VME member Rebecca Murga said, “This event is a great way for veterans and veterans to learn about career opportunities and find mentors, interns or join the various unions that staff Hollywood productions” who is writing swagger Available for Apple TV+.
