Their search may have just ended in the Caribbean, as two prominent nations from these regions are testing the waters with Caribbean nations. Can they be a shoulder to lean on?

According to a statement issued by the ministry on Friday, Abdullah bin Touk Al Mali, UAE Minister of Economy, met with several ministers from the Caribbean countries to discuss ways to improve economic and trade cooperation and discuss the new action plan. An agreement was reached that these programs could help in fostering greater economic cooperation.
Tuque also held several private meetings in Havana with various Cuban ministers, including Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz and Interior Trade Minister Betsy Diaz.
The role of the UAE and Greece in the Caribbean
For those unaware, the UAE is developing a roadmap for growth and development over the next 50 years, and if the UAE considers expanding its relationship with the Caribbean, that would certainly be a welcome step.
Relations between the UAE and Caribbean countries have been harmonious for many years.

A welcome step, but vigilance required
All in all, this is indeed a good sign that Greece and the UAE want to expand their economic cooperation with the Caribbean. Caribbean governments should be open to these proposals, but they should also proceed with caution.
The Caribbean region has been under the control of Western powers such as the United States and France for many years.
The Caribbean never had a proper chance to prosper on a massive scale simply because of these countries. But now, Caribbean countries can achieve rapid economic growth through more international cooperation.
However, a little caution is required. Years of collaboration with the West in the Caribbean has made it a slave due to overdependence. Almost every country is dependent on the US, even for basic needs, which is the main reason why the US still has so many puppet governments in the region.
The Caribbeans need to make sure this doesn’t happen to any more foreign players.

The world can depend on the Caribbean, but the Caribbean should not depend on them. No one else, not the UAE, not Greece, but the Caribbean countries need remote control of their countries.
