Captain Poddle says UAE series ideal preparation ahead of Tour of Namibia

[ad_1]

Newly-appointed Nepal national cricket captain Rohit Kumar Podr said the three bilateral one-day international series with the United Arab Emirates would be an ideal preparation for Nepal before its trip to Namibia.

Nepal is scheduled to visit Namibia in early December for the three-nation series in League 2 of the ICC World Cup, which will feature Scotland in addition to the hosts and Nepal. “It was a good series for us and I would like to thank the Nepal Cricket Association,” Poddle said.

The match against the UAE is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the TU Cricket Ground.

“The UAE is a strong team and will be well prepared for the trip to Namibia. Our aim is to perform well in all three games and win the series,” said former captain Sandeep Lamichhane on September 7. Paudel, who was named captain on Friday after being suspended, said. Lamichhane was suspended by CAN6 after a petty rape case was brought against him in September and is currently in judicial custody.

“Because we don’t have star bowlers, the midsize walkers and spinners should take the blame,” Poddle said.

Paudel also added that they are well-prepared for the series, as they recently concluded their 50-plus domestic Premier Cup tournament. He also said that taking on the responsibility of captaincy was an opportunity for him.

“It’s both an opportunity and a responsibility to prove myself as captain,” Poddle said. “We will have home and home support and will try to grow as a team.”

Nepal head coach Manoy Prabhakar said playing against the UAE ahead of the Namibia series was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him. “The UAE are an experienced team and Nepal has played against them in the past. Keeping our ODI status is a huge challenge and the Namibia series is crucial for that. This is our best chance against the UAE. “

“We have a young and talented team. We need to keep improving every day in every game,” added Prabkhakar.

The UAE recently competed in the first round of World Twenty20 in Australia but failed to qualify for the Super 12 and they are also planning to visit Nepal for the WCL in December.

However, UAE coach Robin Singh has ruled out that his team’s recent performance at the World Cup would give them an edge in Nepal. “It’s about learning from these experiences and trying to implement things we haven’t done in the past. Every prospective member of the International Cricket Council is competitive and anyone can beat anyone else. We can’t take it lightly.”

Emirates captain Chundangapoyil Rizwan said he was looking forward to the series. “We know how passionate Nepal is as a country that loves cricket. Even if we play Nepal in the UAE, the transformation is amazing. I can imagine the (atmosphere) of the series,” Rizwan said.

He said they were looking forward to a serious challenge from Nepal. “Nepal is a young team and has played very well in cricket in the past. I am sure they will give us difficulties. We want to do our best for our team because every game is important,” he said. added.
