On Saturday, September 2, the South Dakota State Fair is pleased to welcome Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce to the stands at the South Dakota State Fair.
Pierce began her career at the age of 16 on the Dollywood stage in Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee. Now, Pearce is celebrating her fourth No. 1 hit with “What He Didn’t Do,” apparently fulfilling her childhood dream. Pierce, whose first live album 29: Written in Stone (Live from Music City) just wrapped, her accomplishments include performing her 100th show at the Grand Ole Opry, being the reigning ACM Female Artist of the Year, and being named CMT’s 2022 Female Artist of the Year One of the Female Artists of the Year and the 2021 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. Currently, Pearce has been nominated for the 2023 ACM Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“Never Wanted to Be That Girl”) and Visual Media of the Year (“What He Didn’t Do”).
Pierce’s hits include “Every Little Thing,” “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” “Things He Hasn’t Done” and “Never Wanna Be That Girl.”
“This year’s entertainment program has been one of our best,” said State Fairgrounds Manager Peggy Besch. “We have a wide variety of top-notch entertainment that appeals to audiences of all ages!”
Pierce was welcomed by Legend Seeds along with Gabriel “Puffy” Iglesias and Lady A and Rowan Grace as part of the grandstand lineup at the South Dakota State Fair.
The supporting cast for the Carly Pearce concert will be announced at a later date.
Grandstand ticket presales will begin on June 5 for those who qualify for Friends of Fair VIP table presales, followed by backrest holders and Friends of Friends ticket presales.
General public ticket sales will begin on June 20.
Friends of the Fair, a program through the State Fair Foundation, offers benefits including early bird access to the State Fair VIP table sale, pre-sale grandstand reserved seats and State Fair standing tickets, free daily admission, and Recognized on the State Fair website.
The backrest plan is an advertising scheme that allows businesses or individuals to place signage on the backrests of stands. Backrest sign holders may purchase South Dakota State Fair Grandstand tickets for their corresponding sign area prior to general and Friends of the Fair ticket sales.Pre-sale information can be found at www.sdstatefair.com.
The 2023 South Dakota State Fair will run from Thursday, August 31st through Monday, September 4th.
