Cathay Pacific Cargo was awarded Cargo Airline of the Year, presented by Air Transport World (ATW), at the 49th Annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards Dinner in Istanbul last week.
The coveted award recognizes Cathay Pacific Cargo for overcoming major operational challenges by 2022, as well as its growth, investment, innovation and ambition to become the world’s most customer-centric air cargo services brand.
These awards recognize excellence in a broad range of airline operations and are selected by a panel of editors and analysts from ATW, Routes, Aviation Week and CAPA. While the winners were announced earlier in the year, a dinner on June 2 allowed representatives from prominent airlines to receive their awards in person and celebrate their achievements.
Commenting on this year’s winners, ATW Editor-in-Chief Karen Walker said: “The final selection speaks to the strength of the overall air transport market recovery, and it is especially heartening that airlines in the Asia-Pacific region reflect this region.”
Cathay Pacific Cargo has been recognized for its continuous development, innovation and adaptation to some of the most challenging constraints. It enhanced its Priority solution and launched an updated Cathay Pharma solution to meet customer needs; continued to digitize processes and services, including the launch of its digital booking platform Click & Ship; expanded the Fly Greener carbon offset program to freight; Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal in the Hong Kong hub has opened a dedicated pharmaceutical processing center.

Since the award was announced earlier in the spring, Cathay Pacific Cargo has been announced as the host airline for the IATA World Cargo Symposium 2024, bringing together air cargo professionals from around the world to discuss the latest trends and Challenging opportunities in areas such as technology and innovation, security and customs, freight operations and sustainability. – trade arab news agency
