Central Hotels Group supports UNICEF’s ECD programme

The owner and operator of Central Hotels Group has donated US$483,000 to UNICEF to increase access to early childhood development (ECD) programs and preschool services for disadvantaged children in Mongolia.

The Al Abdulla family is a strong advocate for philanthropic work, represented by Central Hotels Group CEO Abdulla Al Abdulla, who announced the donation and encouraged private companies in the UAE and GCC to support programmes to invest in the human capital base, especially the younger generation .

UNICEF Mongolia’s ECD project aims to bring 35,000 children to preschool in 2022 and 2023 in five districts, including Bayanzurkh District, a poorer suburban area of ​​Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

In addition, the programme aims to support capacity development at the local level by raising awareness among parents and carers of critical early childhood times, refurbishing old early childhood centres with water and sanitation facilities and ventilation systems to improve learning environments, and Promote family-friendly policies in the workplace, including paid parental leave, breastfeeding and access to quality child care.

“The first 1,000 days of life have a profound impact on a child’s brain development, physical and mental health and, in turn, the future of children and their communities,” said Eltayeb Adam, UNICEF Representative for the Bay Area.
