A young climber who climbed the world’s second highest mountain last week said that when he stood on the top of K2 and raised the Pakistani flag, he felt a “sense of accomplishment”.

According to Karrar Haidri, secretary of the Alpine Club, 19-year-old Shehroze Kashif, from Lahore, a city in eastern Pakistan, reached the summit of K2 at an altitude of 8,611 meters (28,251 feet) last week, becoming the youngest climber in the world to climb this dangerous mountain. . Pakistan.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Cassif said: “I have encountered a lot of difficulties. I don’t have a porter. I carry all the gadgets and luggage by myself.”

However, he said he received a lot of help from the Sherpa in Nepal. Sherpas are known for their endurance at high altitudes and often serve as guides for foreign climbers.

The Karakoram Mountains, located near the Karakoram Mountains in northern Pakistan, are nicknamed “Barbarian Mountains” and are considered by many to be the most dangerous mountain for climbers in the world.

Kasif, wearing a thick brown jacket, pointed out that K2 has several dangerous points along the route to the summit, including chimneys, bottlenecks and shoulders.

Kashif said that Pakistani mountaineering managers cooperated with him to make his climb successful, and he said that his parents are also very grateful. He said he had a sense of accomplishment and became the youngest climber to reach the top of K2.

The Secretary of the Pakistan Alps Club Heydri said that Kasif brought honor to Pakistan. He “became the pride of the country, and we will recommend to the government a high reward for him,” he said.

Kashif said that he started climbing when he climbed a small mountain at the age of 11, and then gradually moved to higher altitudes.

He said: “I received mountaineering training and technical assistance, and then moved to the mountains, including the dangerous and difficult mountains K2, Broad Peak and Mount Everest.”

In May, Kasif became the youngest Pakistani to climb Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world.

Hayley said that Kasif now has additional honors, becoming the youngest person to reach the summit of K2 and Mount Everest.

Kashif said that he now plans to travel to Nepal and try to climb two peaks above 8,000 meters (26,246.72 feet) above sea level.

“My message to the world is to challenge your limits, cross it, and get what you want,” he said.
