Zacharek further wrote, “Seeing him look as if all life had been sucked out of him—not to mention the squirming jaw, deepening frown line, and other physical affronts that come with age— It’s like watching a bird fall from the sky, although birds, unlike people, don’t kill themselves.”
“Depp is a nest of tragedy, a man of immense talent who has probably hurt others as well as himself. He is his own worst enemy and no matter how loud the crowd cheers you, there is no charisma or courage.”
A look at the magazine’s social media shares reveals that Hollywood star Charlize Theron is the only actor who cares about her colleagues.
The actress not only read about Johnny Depp, but also left a reaction in the form of a “like” on Time magazine’s Instagram post.
Meanwhile, Depp pushed back against suggestions that he would be making a comeback in the opening Cannes film after a high-profile defamation trial a year ago, though he admitted people “stopped calling” at the time.
“I’ve been thinking about the word comeback because I’m not going anywhere,” Depp said after running 45 minutes behind schedule at the film’s press conference on Wednesday.
