The heavy rain also claimed three lives in Tamil Nadu, bringing the total number of rain-related deaths in the state to 26, the Tamil Nadu government said on Saturday.

According to the Department of Public Works, nearly 2,480 tanks out of 14,138 water bodies in Tamil Nadu are full of water, while 2,065 tanks are 75% full and 2,799 tanks are about 51% full.
