China implements tougher zero-coronavirus policy on Tibetans: report | World News

[ad_1]

Marco Respinti of Italian religious freedom and human rights magazine Bitter Winter reported that the Chinese Communist Party’s blockade measures have become a tool for greater surveillance and control over Tibetans.

President Xi Jinping’s “Zero COVID” policy has been an important tool of repression. Lockdowns and similar measures have greatly aided the regime in enforcing its sprawling high-tech control and surveillance system under the pretext of protecting citizens’ health.

Again, the victims of COVID-era repression are religious groups, ethnic minorities, and dissidents and dissidents of all kinds, Respinti said.

Voice of America summed up the situation in a Sept. 22 article, saying that “because of the region’s political sensitivity, Tibetans are more closely monitored and face harsher repercussions than people elsewhere.” “. Especially in the historic capital Lhasa, people were “quarantined in empty stadiums, schools, warehouses and unfinished buildings”.

According to Bitter Winter, the situation in Tibet was unbearable, with protests first starting on social media in September and then taking to the streets on October 27 against the blockade imposed since August 8.

Tibetans have even been arrested for daring to share COVID-related photos and videos online. The media reported the September 14 arrest of a nomad, Rinchen Thondup, and six other Tibetans. Other Tibetans were arrested for similar crimes in Lhasa, Nagchu, and other counties.

Amid all these repressive policies against Tibetans using so-called anti-COVID measures, one key point is particularly worrying. First, Tibetans were forced to undergo extensive antigen testing in order to determine infection, Respinti said.

Social media showed photos and videos of Tibetans standing in long lines in freezing rain on some rocky paths. Many were women with young children: all had to wait in harsh conditions to be tested.

Second, even some people who test negative are quarantined, quarantined, monitored, and the cycle continues, according to Bitter Winter.

A Tibetan man and his three young children were taken to the Beijing Middle School quarantine center in Lhasa after his wife’s anti-coronavirus test came back negative, Voice of America reported. “Authorities,” VOA reported, “asked the family to quarantine with 800 people.”

Two of the young children “were developing a fever in a school facility with no doctors, medication or treatment”. It is difficult to describe this as a measure to protect the health of Tibetans, Respinti said.

Likewise, “in a viral recording, a Tibetan father pleads with government officials at one of the Lhasa quarantine centers not to separate him from his 1-year-old,” even though they both tested negative for COVID. “Now that we have tested positive,” lamented the Tibetan father, “you want to take our children.” Again, it is difficult to describe this as a measure to protect the health of Tibetans.

During the blockade, Tibetans were tested once a day, and in some areas even twice a day. Is this special care for the health of Tibetans? Respinti asked.

In China, a totalitarian regime manages the health of highly controlled and repressed people, such as Tibetans.

In a totalitarian state like CCP-led China, the appalling practice of live organ harvesting, whose victims are targeted by the CCP, is a huge and thriving industry.

DNA analysis and rigorous monitoring of the health of designated victims is certainly a strategy for organ harvesting.

Respinti said China’s lockdown measures are a tool for tighter control over citizens, while antigen testing for Tibetans is a tool in the hands of live organ harvesters.
