AEW All Out presents yet another battle in the long war between professional wrestling and sports entertainment. Chris Jericho scored for Sports Entertainment on Sunday.
Jericho beat American Dragon Brian Danielson is on pay-per-view. After the game, most of the Jericho Appreciation Club came out to celebrate. “Red Dead” Daniel Garcia didn’t join his other factions to celebrate.
The issues between Danielson and Jericho can be traced back to AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Jericho and Jake Hager knocked Danielson out in Anarchy In The Arena, and the American Dragons lost the win.
Danielson suffered legal injury during the game. That led to him missing the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view and missing out on a fantasy match against Zack Saber Jr.
American Dragon returns to AEW in late July in Battle for the Fallen. He faced Garcia in the main event and he unexpectedly lost.
The two faced off in the Dragon House-themed episode of AEW Dynamite in a two-thirds fall match. Danielson won and was attacked by the Jericho Appreciation after the game. Garcia, however, prevented Jericho from beating Danielson.
Garcia has been caught between the two ever since. Danielson recognized his potential as a professional wrestler, and so did the AEW audience. However, Jericho sees him as a sports entertainer and seeks Garcia’s loyalty.
Later during the pay-per-view period, Jericho confronted Garcia about his decision not to celebrate the victory. The wrestling legend relayed to Garcia that he won’t have the support of the Jericho Appreciation Association in his fight against Wheeler Yuta for the ROH Pure Championship on Wednesday.
