Claire Tuggle transfers from Virginia to USC

Claire Tuggle announced she will be transferring from Virginia to USC.

Tuggle announced the news on social media on Friday.

“I want to start by saying a big thank you to the coaches and team at UVA and everything they have given me over the past year. Having said that, I am pleased to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at USC. My thanks to the next So excited for Chapter 1 and seeing what it brings. Keep fighting,” Claire Tuggle posted on Instagram.

Tuggle was an NCAA qualifier last year but was excluded from the championship list due to team roster limitation rules.

Originally from California, she will be returning to her home state.

Claire Tuggle’s 2022-23 Freshman Highlights
• Finished 4th in the 500-meter free race and 7th in the 1650-meter free race at the ACC Championships
• Finished 4th in 200 freerolls at Cavalier Invite
• Won the 500 free and finished third in the 200 against North Carolina and North Carolina
• Finished third in 200 games against Virginia Tech
• 4th in 1,000 free games against Texas
• Won the 500m freestyle against Florida

Claire Tuggle was a Class A finalist in the 200m and 400m freestyle at the 2019 US Nationals, where she finished sixth in the 200m freestyle and fourth in the 400m freestyle. She also reached the Class C final in the 200 IM, finishing 23rd overall. She won the 800m freestyle a week later at the 2019 junior competition.

In international competitions, she finished sixth in the 200m freestyle (1:59.83) and seventh in the 400m freestyle (4:12.39) at the 2019 World Junior Championships in Budapest, finishing in 1:58.39.

Tuggle is famous for getting the straw wood The legendary 200 freestyle 13-14 year old national age group record that has stood since the 1978 World Championships In the 2018 Junior Pan Pacs, she swam 1:58.58, missing the mark of 1:58.51.
