PARIS – The Arab Alliance of Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organizations (ALECSO), the UAE’s cultural ambassadors, has announced the creation of the Museum of Classical Film in Abu Dhabi, a cultural project organized by Anassi Media and the Institute for the Arab World in Paris.
The announcement was attended by Jack Lang, Director of the Arab World Institute in Paris; Maadhad Hareb Mughair Al Khaili, UAE Ambassador to France; Ahmed Al Mulla, Deputy Head of Mission, UAE Embassy in Paris; Aisha Kamali, Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Delegation of ALECSO; Dr. Ahmedou Habibi, ALECSO expert; and Afifa Al Ziyadi, ALECSO representative to UNESCO.
Several Arab and foreign diplomats and some 400 intellectuals, artists and journalists also participated in the event.
Paris is the museum’s first international venue, an Arab and Emirati cultural project sponsored by Sheikha Alyazia bint Nahyan Al Nahyan, ALECSO Special Ambassador for Culture, in collaboration with the Arab World Institute and ALECSO.
In his speech, Long expressed his delight at ALECSO’s decision to choose the Arab World Institute as the organizer of the cultural program honoring classic film pioneers.
