Climate protesters glue themselves to Berlin museum’s dinosaur exhibit | World News

[ad_1]

Two environmental activists glued themselves on Sunday at a dinosaur exhibit at Berlin’s Natural History Museum to protest what they say is the German government’s failure to properly address the threat of climate change.

The women used superglue to attach themselves to the poles that supported the skeletons of large quadrupeds tens of millions of years ago.

“Unlike dinosaurs, we take our destiny into our own hands,” protester Caris Cornell, 34, said as museum-goers crowded the exhibits. “Do we want to go extinct like the dinosaurs, or do we want to live?”

Activist Solvig Schinkoethe, 42, said that as a mother of four, she worries about the consequences of the climate crisis.

“This peaceful resistance is the means we choose to protect our children from the deadly ignorance of the government,” she said.

The museum had no immediate comment on the protest.

The activists are part of a last-generation uprising group that has staged multiple demonstrations in recent months, including blocking streets and throwing mashed potatoes at a Claude Monet painting.
