That’s fast! Roommate, as we previously reported, Chris Cuomo was suspended indefinitely on December 1st because details about how he helped his brother Andrew Cuomo in the sexual harassment scandal surfaced. However, the network moved quickly and officially terminated him.
In a statement, CNN Said, “Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week awaiting further evaluation of new information regarding his involvement in his brother’s defense. We hired a respected law firm to conduct a review and have fired him with immediate effect. The statement continued: “During the review process, additional information has been exposed. Despite the termination, we will conduct an appropriate investigation.”
Chris also broke the silence and issued his own statement. Chris wrote on Twitter: “This is not the way I want my time on CNN to end, but I have told you why and how I helped my brother. So now let me say, even though this is disappointing, But I am extremely proud of the Cuomo Prime Time team and the work we have done as CNN’s number one show during the most competitive time period. I owe them all and I will miss that group who did the really important work Special person.”
Although Chris downplayed his relationship with the governor’s office, a large number of details were obtained through a large file dump on Monday. New York’s Attorney General Letitia James released documents showing that although Chris is one of CNN’s top anchors, he works for free to help the governor. A CNN spokesperson declined to share any further details about the information provided in this report. Roommates, if more details surface, we will continue to update!
