CNN goes live Monday at a new state-of-the-art broadcast facility Abu Dhabi Touted as a new chapter in the promise of the web middle East.
New high-tech CNN bureau, featuring a 10-megapixel video wall and a suite of fully robotic HD cameras, is located on Abu Dhabi’s man-made Yas Island at the new Yas Creative Hub, established by twofour54 to attract the media industry to Abu Dhabi Bi, a government entity, is implementing media and entertainment work in the UAE capital.
The new CNN center also includes four newsrooms and a modern open-plan newsroom, expanding the size and scope of its UAE operations and promoting Abu Dhabi as “a major international production hub for the web alongside Atlanta, New York and London” One “role and Hong Kong,” CNN said in a statement.
Abu Dhabi’s global influence on CNN has grown since the network first opened an office in the UAE in 2009. In 2014, it became the home of “Connecting the World with Becky Anderson” and is now home to some of CNN’s best-known feature news programs, including “Decoded” and “Middle East Markets,” as well as CNN digital properties such as the network’s “Simultaneous Newsletter in the Middle East”.
The new Abu Dhabi bureau marks CNN’s latest investment in technology and editorial production in recent years. The network began broadcasting from a new studio in New York in 2019, followed by a high-tech facility in London in 2020. CNN will soon be broadcasting from its brand new studio in Atlanta, according to the statement.

This new investment underscores that importance and we are excited to share what it will bring to audiences around the world,” said Executive Vice President President and General Manager Mike McCarthy said: CNN.
“This new facility really enhances our operations in Abu Dhabi,” emphasized Becky Anderson, anchor and editor-in-chief for CNN Abu Dhabi. “Everything we build here enhances our ability to tell stories in this region and beyond, from state-of-the-art studios and production facilities, to the workspace itself, which is geared towards collaborative, multi-platform content creation.”
