Collin Gosselin says ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ torn his family apart

Former children’s reality star Collin Gosselin, 18, says he hasn’t had contact with his mother or most of his siblings in years.

“I’d like to believe it’s because of TV and what it does to a family to be in the public eye,” the teen said. recently told “Entertainment Tonight.” “I think it divided us.”

Years ago, kate gosling publicly placed one of her sextuplets, Colin, in a facility because she said he had “special needs”.

That was after her contentious divorce from Jon Gosselin.

The Gosselins’ series, which premiered in 2007, focuses on their lives raising sextuplets and twin daughters.

The show ended up being called “Kate Plus 8” after the couple Divorced in 2009Episodes ran on and off between 2010 and 2017. (TLC is owned by CNN’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.)

Jon Gosselin eventually won custody of Collin, who lived with his sister Hannah in their father’s home.

But Colin Gosselin said his relationship with his mother Kate does not exist.

“Unfortunately we didn’t have a relationship,” he said. “I think every son wants to have a relationship with their mom. But I’m fine.”

He also said he hadn’t spoken to the other quadruplets — Alexis, Arden, Joel and Leah — or their 22-year-old twin sisters Kara and Maddie in five or six years.

“I want to respect their space and their time and how they feel about everything,” he said. “So I’m just waiting for the day when they reach out.”

CNN has reached out to Kate Gosselin’s representatives for comment. She will appear on the new reality series “Special Forces: The Ultimate Test,” where she and other celebrities compete as part of Special Forces training camp.
