Commemorating the first special exhibition at the Louvre Abu Dhabi

This week at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Launch of Impressionist Masterpieces Exhibition From the Musée d’Orsay, Paris.and more than 150 paintings, It is the largest collection of Impressionist art in the Middle East and charts the rise of one of the most transformative movements in the art world through the seminal works of Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Manet, Degas and Cézanne.

as the Louvre Abu Dhabi Getting ready to celebrate its fifth anniversarythe Impressionist collection is on par with the museum’s first special exhibition five years ago.

The 2017 collection, titled “From Louvre to Louvre: Opening a Museum for Everyone,” features 150 masterpieces from Versailles and the Louvre Museum in Paris, including statues, paintings from around the world and ceramics.

Temporary exhibitions evoke memories of 17th and 18th century France, tracing the origins of Parisian museums back to the time when the public first came into contact with French royal collections.

It explores how the collections of Versailles were displayed in gardens, state apartments and the private apartments of kings, then explores how the Louvre in Paris was transformed into a hotbed of creative energy in the 18th century – in 1793 the museum itself was launched in 1793 Before the French Revolution.

The collection features stunning statues, Diana of Versailles, In addition to other great works such as the creation of the world Clock, 18th century French watchmaking masterpiece in bronze with four complex mechanisms; painting by Jean Garnier Allegory of Louis XIV, protector of arts and sciences from 1672; and Barberini vasemade in Syria between 1239 and 1260 – demonstrating the talent of Syrian coppersmiths.

From Louvre to Louvre Focuses on the way the Louvre in Paris is known as a “museum of the world”, collecting works from around the world in the 19th century. The model was later embodied by the Louvre Abu Dhabi, whose director Manuel Rabat described it as the first general-purpose museum in the Arab world.

As the exhibition kicks off, Rabat said: “We are proud to start with this gem – which showcases the creation of the Louvre in Paris as a cosmopolitan museum.

“The Louvre in Paris is a milestone in France’s transformation, and we hope that the Louvre Abu Dhabi will achieve the same.”
