Comment: Blue Seafood Asia, DIFC’s sea-to-table concept

[ad_1]

DIFC opened a new seafood restaurant…

recent, Latest News For you A first look at a chic new Asian seafood restaurant Found in DIFC. Blue Seafood Asia has just opened for a few weeks, and with its secluded open-air terrace and vibrant ocean interiors, it has attracted local diners.

When we entered the Burj Damman restaurant, the fresh fish display aroused our interest from the very beginning. From lobster to red snapper, sea bass, etc., there are a variety of options to choose from, consolidating the restaurant’s “from the sea to the table” concept.

A table on the open-air terrace is waiting for us, surrounded by tropical plants and comfortable sofa seats or traditional tables to choose from. From the rustic wooden menu to the huge Asian fisherman mural above the kitchen window, details have received special attention.

Starting with the raw bar option, we were prompted to choose raw tuna pizza (68 dirhams), which exceeded our expectations. Crispy tortilla bread forms the base, while large strips of raw tuna are combined with avocado cream, lemon aioli, cucumber ribbon, chili flakes and a little chili oil to achieve the perfect balance of flavor and texture.

In the dim sum section, we can’t help but try the prawn pot stickers (37 dirhams), which are similar to dumplings but with a large and delicate crunch on the edges. The stickers are soft and crunchy in all the right places, but we would rather add a little more filling to really appreciate the taste.

We also tried fresh ceviche with sea bass (65 dirhams). The portion was large, with lots of sliced onion, avocado and coriander. The fish pieces are long and thin, not what we expected, but still delicious, and the accompanying puffed seaweed slices are a welcome addition.

Wasabi prawns (Dhs51) provide a seamless balance of sweetness and spiciness. The crunchy tempura is topped with cream sauce and topped with delicious soft Thai mango slices.

Blue’s design for chocolate fudge includes a piece of meringue that serves as a bed that oozes the center of the caramel. This is a strange combination, because the meringue is too sticky to disappoint this dish, but this dish is worth showing.

According to DIFC standards, this restaurant is reasonably priced and the service is undeniably hospitable. Blue’s dishes are creative and delicious, but we have to wait and see if they can stand out from the fierce competition.

Blue Seafood Asia, Waldorf Astoria, DIFC, Dubai, open from 12 noon to 1 am from Saturday to Wednesday, and from 12 noon to 2 am from Thursday to Friday. Phone: (0)4 432 2300. @blueseafoodasia
