Comoros held a flag-raising ceremony at Expo 2020 on Monday. Comorian President Azali Azumani and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan attended the flag-raising ceremony.

President Azumani said in his speech: “We are very happy that the UAE is willing to cooperate with us. Our two countries have a deep brotherhood and we look forward to strengthening cooperation in various fields.”

Sheikh Nahyan said: “The Comoros used the Expo 2020 platform to demonstrate the great opportunities it offers in the field of the blue economy, shared best practices in marine protection and environmental protection, and emphasized the need for global conservation efforts. As Lilac , One of the major exporters of perfumes and vanilla, the participation of Comoros also clarified its economic priorities and resources.”

“We are proud of our bilateral relations with Comoros and the remarkable progress in cultural diplomacy between the two countries. We also look forward to establishing existing partnerships through this Expo and beyond, and working together to further benefit our country and Promote its development.”

The Comoros Pavilion is located in a sustainable development zone-East Africa’s volcanic islands fit perfectly with the sub-theme of sustainable development. Visitors can learn more about the flora and fauna of the Comoros, as well as the rare coelacanths and other marine life through the underwater display made of recycled plastic. There is also a chance to experience the aromatic flower ylang-ylang used in perfume, as well as various spices and herbs.

Under the theme of “Blooming Flower”, the pavilion re-introduced the magic of Comoros to the world, first holding a grand wedding in Bangwe, then strolling in the aromatic spice garden, and then emphasizing its commitment to a sustainable future.

The National Day and Honor Day of the Expo 2020 is a time to celebrate the more than 200 international participants of the Expo, showcase their culture and achievements, and showcase their pavilions and programs. Each held a flag-raising ceremony on the national stage in Al Wasl Square, followed by speeches and cultural performances.

The 2020 World Expo will last until March 31, 2022, inviting visitors from all over the world to participate in a six-month celebration of human creativity, innovation, progress and culture to create a new world together.
