The Korean Music Festival is celebrating its 10th year. The month-long event includes concerts and live performances, exhibitions, film screenings and workshops.

“The Korean Culture Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, aims to enjoy Korean culture in the United Arab Emirates such as Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai,” said Nam Chan-woo, Director of the Korea Culture Festival at the Cultural Center.

“The Korea Cultural Center will continue its efforts to develop Korea Festival into a festival of active cultural exchange between Korean and UAE generations.”

Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and hosted by the UAE Korean Cultural Centre, the majority of the event will take place at the Yas Creative Centre on Yas Island, but some performances will also be held at other locations. The purpose of the event is to showcase traditional and modern Korean culture to a wider audience. See what happens.

Korean Traditional Painting Exhibition

when: runs until October 28

Young artists from the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Buyeo County reinterpret 45 traditional Korean paintings. The works include new paintings featuring traditional Korean and Arab cultures. They will be exhibited at the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi.

Kite: K-pop in concert in UAE

when: Sunday 7.30pm

Hallyu pioneer Rain and rising star Kurosawa It will be featured on The Agenda stage in Dubai Media City. As part of the event, rock band YB, singer-songwriter 10cm, rapper Ph-1, duo Prudence, singer-songwriter SWJA and singer Car, the Garden will also join them with an XR video performance. The XR Metaverse show uses XR real-time tracking and 3D technology to create a virtual stage – in this case, it will take shape with the South Korean show, and it will look like they are performing in front of the Burj Khalifa.

6/45′ Film Screening

when: October 15th at 5:30pm, October 16th at 2pm

Directed by Park Kyu-tae, the 2022 South Korean comedy tells the story of the encounter between North and South Korean soldiers after a 5.7 billion won lottery ticket was blown across the military demarcation line into North Korea. The movie stars Go Kyung-pyo, Lee Yi-kyung, Um Moon-suk, Park Se-wan and Kwak Dong-yeon.

There will be two screenings: October 15th at Yas Mall at 5.30pm and October 16th at Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain at 2pm.

“Tiankeng” Movie Screening

when: October 16 at 4:20 pm

The 2021 disaster comedy film centers on Park Dong-won, who is finally able to buy a house for his family after saving for 11 years. During the housewarming party, an overnight downpour created a large sinkhole that engulfed the apartment and the people inside. Parker and his guests had to find a way out, as the rain began to pour again and the water quickly filled the puddle. The film also stars Cha Seung Won, Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Kwang Soo, Kim Hye Joon and Nam Doron.

The film will be screened at Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain.

The 6th UAE-Korea Friendship Taekwondo Championships

when: October 22

The Taekwondo Championships, jointly organised by the Korean Embassy in the UAE and the UAE Taekwondo Federation, encourage youths to practice and demonstrate their Taekwondo skills. The location of the event will be announced closer to the date.

The 18th UAE International Peace Music Festival

when: October 21-23

10-year-old Korean violinist and musical genius Yoeun Seol will make his UAE debut with the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has been playing the violin since the age of 2 and has mastered the instrument. She currently has nearly 87,000 subscribers on YouTube, where she uploads videos of her performing solo or with groups. The location will be announced closer to the date.

Connect with K-Arts Dance

When: October 27 at 5:30 pm

Modern dancers from the Korea National University of the Arts in Seoul are heading to the capital. Expect a creative routine based on traditional Korean dance. The performance will be held at the Sorbonne University.
