A song of fire and color…
Celebrations on the Yas Bay waterfront will once again lift off for Eid al-Adha.
Following the announcement of Eid al-Fitr, Yas Bay will light up a three-night feast of fireworks (starting at 9pm each night). Celebrations are likely to begin on Friday, July 8, in line with the announced start of public and private sector holidays, although only the moon will provide the horns for the official launch.
Historically, Eid fireworks were launched from a mission control centre in Yas Marina, but since opening late last year – the new multi-billion-dirham waterfront recreation area has taken over the show rights. The Yas Island Sky Fireworks are a traditional part of Abu Dhabi’s Eid al-Fitr celebrations and are completely free to visit (though you will need to follow proper public health guidelines).
If you want the best seats in the house, we highly recommend making some restaurant reservations now. For more information on Yas Bay now open, Check out our guide to casual large-scale projects.
