DC native Cashaéy Serenity has worked in fashion, modeling and acting for over a decade, and now she uses her expertise and industry connections to host Connection Masterclass Network and learn from entertainment professionals for aspiring models and actors.

The event, which will take place on September 17 in Waldorf, Maryland, will feature professional avatars, live training and feedback, as well as engaging model coaches, casting directors, photographers, filmmakers and directors from the Washington metro area group discussion.

Serenity created this campaign to give back to her community and protect aspiring artists and models from exploitation.

“In the past, I was just starting out and I really didn’t know who to trust. I’ve been lied to a lot of times and my photos weren’t what they were supposed to be,” Serenity said. “I just want to protect the flames and talents that are coming now and let them know what they should be watching.”

Serenity began her modeling journey during her first year of high school. Her mother enrolled her in classes led by Barbizon Modeling, an international modeling and acting school that has been operating for over 75 years.

She continued her training after joining the modeling program in high school, learning how to walk, style and create fashion shows. Then, in college, Serenity joined Model Mayhem, a professional model portfolio site, and continued to shoot photos.

Cashaéy Serenity is a fashion model, actress and creative director. She created The Connect Masterclass to support aspiring models and actors entering the entertainment industry.

In 2011, Serenity appeared in her first magazine, RazorsEdge. Since then, she has photographed for Sophisticate’s Black Hair Styles and Care Guide magazine and has modeled for MODEL MODEL, Harlem 125 and Motown Tress.

Now based in Atlanta, Serenity has just completed a pilot for a scripted drama and comedy TV series about the lives of models behind the scenes. The show delves into undocumented modeling experiences on social media, and Serenity and her team are currently in talks with TV networks to get the green light for the series.

During The Connect Masterclass, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with model, producer and casting director Candice “CJ” Johnson, talent agency Models Inc., film director Randall Lawrence and photographer Shawne Turrentine.

Industry experts will teach attendees how to secure auditions, design professional websites, build their portfolios, shoot avatars, understand the importance of contracts, and source talent agents and managers.

If attendees need more information and support after The Connect Masterclass, they can sign up for Serenity’s one-on-one tutoring sessions, This helps aspiring models discover their purpose and goals, master different types of modeling and poses, gain confidence, connect with agents and managers and learn how to network.

“I just want people to be able to network and connect with each other. That’s what The Connect Masterclass is all about, growing their community and building relationships,” Serenity said.
