The 28th edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceutical Technology Conference and Exhibition (Duphat), which kicked off on January 10, is the event’s largest ever with more than 1,100 international companies in attendance.
The three-day event, which was opened by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, is expected to be attended by 26,000 people from 82 countries, This marks Dubai’s emergence as a major global hub for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. New products of many well-known brands will be launched at the event.

Sheikh Ahmed visited an exhibition that showcased some of the most advanced products and technologies in the pharmaceutical industry.
The event included 112 conference lectures and 15 seminars, presented by 140 experts and specialists. Duphat has attracted significant participation from the student community and the University. A total of 330 posters will showcase the latest breakthrough pharmaceutical and medical research at the event.

Julphar operates 12 internationally recognized manufacturing plants worldwide with operations in 37 countries on five continents. This year’s Duphat also attracted 25 companies from Turkey and featured large Polish and Chinese pavilions.
The pharmaceutical market in the Middle East and Africa is expected to be worth more than USD 42 billion by 2022, at a projected CAGR of approximately 8%. Major global events such as Duphat, which bring together industry leaders and decision makers to network and collaborate, are critical to accelerating the industry’s growth.
