This is the latest move to promote a safe return to school for the new school year that begins in September.

Authorities announced that they have opened walk-in Covid-19 vaccination centers for students 12 years and older, teachers and administrators in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

This is the latest move to promote a safe return to school for the new school year that begins in September.

The new vaccination center is jointly launched by the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Education and Knowledge (Adek), Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health (DoH), Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC) and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). Previously Adek The pop-up vaccination center in Yas Mall was a recent success, which vaccinated more than 1,800 students.

The dedicated centers of the Green Hall of the Mina Zayed Vaccination Center in Abu Dhabi and the Green Hall of the Al Ain Conference Center will be open every day from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm until October 31.

No appointment is required, but students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

“Since students aged 16 and over need to be vaccinated to return to face-to-face school in the new school year, the new vaccination center aims to make the process as easy as possible and to facilitate the smooth return of students to school. The education community as a whole. We encourage parents Continue to play their important role and vaccinate their children,” Adek Deputy Minister Amer Al Hammadi said.

According to the requirements of the three-week window between the two doses, it is recommended that all members of the education community receive the first vaccine as soon as possible.

The new dedicated center provides first, second, and booster Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines. Students and the wider education community can obtain these vaccines at these two centers or any other vaccination center approved by the Ministry of Health. The whole process, including observation after vaccination, should not exceed 40 minutes.

Residents do not need to make an appointment to enter the new center, but must show their UAE ID when registering, while students new to the school community need to show passports and entry permits with UIDs.

Registration also includes the presentation of an employee ID, employment or school admission notice, and a green or gray status on the Al Hosn app.

Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 21 years old. However, each family allows only one parent or legal guardian to enter the center to avoid overcrowding and to ensure simplified vaccination procedures.

Adek clarified that students between the ages of 3 and 15 do not need to be vaccinated to participate in classroom teaching.

However, injections must be given to students 16 years and older. They can only participate in classroom teaching 28 days after the second dose of the vaccine approved by the UAE.

Students who have received a vaccination exemption can enter the school, provided that the exemption is verified on their Al Hosn app or through an official letter from a vaccination provider authorized by the Ministry of Health (such as SEHA or Mubadala Health).

Adek data shows that 89% of educators in all private schools in Abu Dhabi have been vaccinated.
