Bahrain’s National Medical Task Force to Fight Coronavirus (Covid-19) announced that after obtaining the approval of the Vaccination Committee, all children between the ages of 3 and 11 will be eligible to receive two doses of Sinopharm vaccine, starting on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 .
The working group pointed out that the decision was made after a thorough review of all medical health and safety recommendations made by the Vaccination Committee, adding that the move was intended to protect public health.
In addition, Pfizer’s BioNTech vaccine will soon be approved for use in children aged 5 to 11 years who are eligible to receive two doses of the vaccine.
Details will be announced on the website of the Ministry of Health.
The working group emphasized that it is very important to vaccinate eligible children to protect themselves, their families and public health.
To register children for vaccination, people should visit the Ministry of Health website: healthalert.gov.bh or register through the BeAware app.
The working group pointed out that registration requires the consent of the legal guardian.
Children must also be accompanied by an adult when they are vaccinated.
