Covid-19: New regulations in Abu Dhabi help prevent gatherings during Eid al-Fitr-News

[ad_1]

The new rules were issued by the Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disaster Committee on July 19.

The new Covid-19 measures that came into effect on the first day of Eid al-Adha in Abu Dhabi encouraged many residents to avoid gatherings and instead choose to have more intimate family celebrations.

The new regulations issued by the Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disaster Committee came into effect on July 19; resulting in restricted movement, updated entry rules into the emirate, and reduced the capacity of shopping malls, cinemas and other public places.

For Sri Lankan expatriate Robert King, this Eid al-Fitr holiday does not include his extended family members or friends as in the past, but is a close family event.

“This Eid al-Fitr is different because we have to avoid gatherings,” Jin said.

“On the day of Eid al-Adha, my wife and children went to Binhai Road to swim in the afternoon. In the evening, we wandered in Binhai Park until 10:00 pm, “This is to ensure that they start disinfection throughout the city at midnight. Arrive home before the plan.

Egyptian resident Jumah Ali said that he and his friends had to cancel their original day trip to Khorfakkan Beach in the northern UAE because they were worried that they would not be able to return to the capital on time.

“We are worried that we might return to Abu Dhabi late and have problems due to the movement restrictions imposed after midnight,” he said.

He decided to go to Yas Water World with the children to play some fun water games.

Mohammed Kezaala from Uganda said that due to restrictions, community football matches originally scheduled for the long weekend had to be cancelled.

He explained: “Due to Covid rules, in order to limit the number of people, the event must be limited to players.”

Under the new measures, the capacity of the shopping center has been reduced to 40%, and the closing time has been moved from 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm. The city’s public buses have also been suspended.

Bhupinder Singh, general manager and chief financial officer of Dalma Mall, told Khaleej Times that the mall strictly abides by the new guidelines.

He said: “We also hope that our shoppers can go home in time to avoid being fined by the authorities.”

The Abu Dhabi police reminded motorists who drive from other emirates to Abu Dhabi to consider the continued movement restrictions after midnight before planning their journey.

The new restrictions are also in effect at the Abu Dhabi border, allowing only those who show a negative PCR test result within 48 hours and receive a negative DPI within 24 hours. These measures apply to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
