The official said that violators will be held accountable and severely fined upon their return.

Saudi Arabia announced that citizens who travel to redlisted countries during the Covid-19 pandemic will face a three-year international travel ban.

An official source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom said that in light of the current pandemic, any citizen who travels to a country on the red list will obviously break the law.

The source explained that the ministry has received information about citizens travelling to banned countries in clear violation of the precautionary measures taken by the authorities.

The official said that those who violate the law will be held accountable and will be punished severely upon return, adding that the offender will not travel abroad within three years.

The Ministry of the Interior reiterated to its citizens that travel bans to red-listed countries apply, whether through directly or through another country.

It is also prohibited to travel to countries dealing with the spread of virus variants.

Authorities call on citizens to proceed with caution and stay away from areas where Covid-19 cases are on the rise — and take all precautions, no matter where the destination is.
