COVID-19 Travel Guide to the UAE – Everything You Need to Know

Dubai’s official tourism website – visitdubai.ae – provides the following guidance for tourists: “From November 8, 2022, passengers no longer need to present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or negative PCR test result to enter the UAE.”

However, the website asks travelers to check the following immigration/COVID-19 guidelines before travelling:

1. Ensure entry requirements are met visa requirements Visit the UAE.
2. If you are traveling onward or transiting through Dubai, you must still comply with the travel requirements of your final destination.
3. As destination requirements may change at short notice, it is recommended that you check with your airline for any updates before travelling.
4. Wearing a face mask is optional at Dubai Airport and all locations in Dubai, except hospitals and medical institutions. Airlines can require passengers to wear masks if deemed necessary.

Likewise, Abu Dhabi’s official tourism website – visitabudhabi.ae – states: “From 26 February 2022, you will no longer need [PCR] Tested before flying to Abu Dhabi. Both vaccinated and non-vaccinated travelers are welcome to experience Abu Dhabi without restrictions.

“As of 7th November 2022, almost all Covid-19 restrictions in Abu Dhabi have been lifted, which means green status for the Al Hosn app and negative PCR tests are no longer required to enter Abu Dhabi attractions.”

The UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Authority (NCEMA) has announced the second phase of easing the country’s COVID-19 restrictions, which will come into effect on 7 November 2022.

Announced updates to COVID-19 protocols mean you are no longer required to wear a mask in open and closed facilities, or to show a green pass in public Alhosen App Enter public places.

According to NCEMA’s announcement, if you test positive for COVID-19, you will need to quarantine for five days.
