[ad_1]

Government officials said that 91% of UAE residents received one dose of the vaccine and 80% received two doses of the vaccine.

The health department announced on Tuesday that the UAE ranks first in the world among the countries with the highest proportion of people receiving at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The official spokesperson of the UAE Health Department, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, quoted statistics published on the “Our World Data” website, saying that 91% of the country’s population had at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

At the weekly Covid-19 briefing, she said: “According to our data world, at least 80.38% of the country’s population has been vaccinated with two doses. The UAE ranks second in the world,” explained Dr. Hosani Say. In addition, data shows that the UAE’s Covid-19 death rate ranks fifth in the world.

In terms of the number of people who have received two doses of the vaccine, Portugal ranks first in the world with 81.2%, and in terms of the number of people who have received one dose, Portugal ranks second with 87%.

According to our data world, the UAE ranks third in the world in terms of the number of coronavirus tests per 1,000 people in countries/regions with a population of more than 1 million. “These figures include tests conducted from the beginning of the pandemic to September 12,” said Dr. Hosani.

Dr. Hosani added: “Compared with August 2020, the number of Covid-19 cases in the UAE has been reduced by 60%, so it is the lowest percentage of the number of infections in a year.” The health department spokesperson said that the current digital status is attributable. Because of the strong national vaccination campaign and the society’s compliance with safety regulations.

“Compared with people who are not vaccinated, vaccines usually help prevent infection and disease complications, hospital admissions, reduced hospital stays, and the need for ventilators,” she added.

Dr. Hosani urged eligible residents to get the Covid-19 vaccine. “The introduction of boosters helps to reduce the number of daily cases. These doses greatly enhance immunity, which is the reason for the current reduction in cases,” she added.

Dr. Hosani said that the UAE is recovering quickly from the pandemic and urged residents to develop the habit of self-testing if they develop symptoms of Covid. She also called on Emirati and foreigners to get the seasonal flu vaccine. Dr. Hosani said: “The recommended interval between the new coronavirus vaccine and the flu vaccine is two weeks.”

She said: “If there is no integration between the government and the people, Emirates cannot be successful. The members of the community are fully committed to complying with safety agreements and preventive measures.”
