Covid in the UAE: Students 16 years and older must be vaccinated to participate in live courses-News

[ad_1]

Those who reach the age of 16 after the school reopens must receive the first dose of the UAE approved vaccine within four weeks of their birthday.

All school staff and students aged 16 and over must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before they can return and continue their face-to-face learning in Abu Dhabi.

Those who are not eligible for vaccination can be exempted from this requirement, provided they receive official sanctions.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee announced new Covid safety measures to resume school studies in September.

“These policies mean that all students 16 years and older, as well as faculty and staff and all visitors, must be vaccinated by the UAE before they can enter the school, whether it is during school hours or after school hours. They must be in AlHosn before returning to school during the school year. The vaccination status is verified on the app,” said Amer Al Hammadi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Knowledge (Adek) in Abu Dhabi.

Students and school staff who are granted a vaccination exemption can enter the campus, provided that it is verified on the AlHosn app or through an official letter from a vaccination provider authorized by the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health (such as SEHA or Mubadala Health).

Students who will be 16 years old after the school reopens must receive the first dose of the UAE approved vaccine within four weeks of their birthday, and this must be reflected in the AlHosn app. Parents must ensure that these students complete the complete vaccination journey in time.

Student Pop-up Vaccination Center

To ensure that students return to school safely, Yas Mall will set up a pop-up vaccination center from August 3rd to 7th and August 24th to 28th.

The center is part of an effort to encourage students 12 years and older, including university students, to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. Students can also get the Covid-19 vaccine at any official vaccination center in Abu Dhabi.

Adek also confirmed that special arrangements will be made for students aged 16 and over who have not been vaccinated to take important exams at the school.

Students over 16 and educators who have just arrived in the UAE will be given a grace period to complete their vaccination journey and should contact their school for more details.
