According to the Oman News Agency, Cyclone Shaheen was downgraded to a tropical storm after landing in Oman.
The agency said in a tweet on Sunday that the surface wind speed around the epicenter was estimated to be 102 to 116 kilometers per hour.
However, heavy rains and gusts are said to have affected the northern and southern areas of Al Batinah Province.

Due to tropical storms, heavy rains occurred in Suwaiq state. Oman’s official news agency stated that power outages have been taken in parts of the state as a preventive measure.
Authorities said that so far, Hurricane Shaheen has killed at least 9 people in Oman and Iran.
In Oman, two people died in a landslide and a child died in a flash flood. In Iran, 6 people died in Chabahar Port in Sistan-Baluchistan Province.
On Sunday, flights to Oman were suspended and schools in Oman were closed. In Muscat, the capital, vehicles are stuck in the water and the streets are empty.
