Dallas snack concept is expanding west: yes cover14 years running authentic tapas in Dallas, will open a second location in Fort Worth, specifically in the Crockett neighborhood at 2949 Crockett St., formerly known as Fireside Pies.
It will open in the fall, according to a press release.
Si Tapas comes from Ildefonso Jimenez, a tapas pioneer who opened his first location in Uptown Dallas in 2009. After the couple broke up, she took over the restaurant.
He opened Si Tapas in a lovely white cottage at 2207 Allen St. in the State Thomas neighborhood, which he’s injected with old-world vibes, football memorabilia, decorative wine bottles and a sweet courtyard oasis.
this menu Includes classic tapas such as cold cuts, cheese, olives, garlic prawns, patatas bravas, calamari, Spanish potato omelet, serrano ham croquettes, raw chickpeas and spinach on toast, pickled red bell peppers and more— — Kind of like a deli, disassembled.
They’re known for their large wine list at affordable prices, ranging from $30 to $200 a bottle. It’s a place to share bottle by bottle and snacks, which has really become a modern way of eating out for a lot of people.
Their signature drink and wine list offers a unique range of Spanish wines curated by region, and their food reflects the rich regional diversity of both classical and modern Spain.
Ildefonso will add menu items unique to Fort Worth, such as Cochinillo, a Spanish dish consisting of roast pig; and Lechazo, a Spanish dish consisting of roast lamb.
“We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to expand Si Tapas’ second location into Fort Worth’s growing food scene,” Jimenez said in a statement.
This isn’t the first time Jimenez has expanded his Si Tapas empire: He opened an Austin location in 2014, and he previously opened a Hola!
Kathy Permenter, co-managing partner of Younger Partners, said in a statement that they are excited to bring Si Tapas to Fort Worth.
“They have a lot of regular customers in Fort Worth, and this new location will give them the opportunity to grab a bite in casual elegance,” Permenter said.
Younger Partners purchased Crockett Row in August 2022 and is revitalizing the development, including new gathering spaces, parking technology to help locate its 1,500 free parking spaces, updated signage and improvements throughout the property, Permenter said.
