Damac Properties on Monday launched Damac Lagoons, a new master community project.
Adjacent to the Damak Hills community, the project will be themed around eight different cities spread across the community. These clusters include Venice, Morocco, Santorini, Costa Brava, Nice, Malta, Andalusia and Portofino.
Villas and townhouses will be built around large lagoons with white sandy beaches, and each town will have a unique theme and a variety of amenities.
Amira Sajwani, general manager of sales and development at Damac Properties, said work on the project is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022 and will be completed by October 2024.
“Living here is like escaping a much-needed vacation without having to leave the comforts of home,” she said, adding that the concept of community living is rapidly evolving.
The Santorini cluster will be a “central hub” for the community, featuring a “fitness and wellness area” with a climbing wall. Residents can then relax by the natural pond or enjoy a movie under the stars at the floating cinema on the water. The townhouses and villas here are strung together by quaint trails, bike paths and ornamental plants—just steps from the black sand beach.
The master developer has delivered 2,700 units so far in 2021, with about 35,000 units delivered to date.
“The way the government has successfully dealt with Covid-19 and the hosting of Expo 2020, there is a good chance that at least one in five to one in ten people will decide to buy a house here. Therefore, there should be more demand in the market than supply,” Sajwani added.
She added that the impact of Expo 2020 will be more pronounced in the first or second quarter of 2022, as those entering the country for Expos will be amazed at what Dubai has achieved as a city. “The Expo will bring them in, but Dubai’s infrastructure will keep them here.”
