Dan Reynolds and wife Aja Volkman split | Entertainment

[ad_1]

Dan Reynolds and his wife of 11 years, Aja Volkman, have separated.

The 35-year-old singer’s marriage has been through many ups and downs, and just last year he recalled “driving to a law firm to sign divorce papers” without speaking to his spouse for seven months in 2018. His estranged wife sent him a text message that ultimately saved their marriage.

However, the couple – who have four children, Arrow, 10, Coco, 5, Valentine, 2 and Gia, 5 – parted ways again.

In a social media statement on Saturday (09/17/22), Dan said: “I am sorry to say that Aja and I have been separated after so many wonderful years.

“Being a good parent to our children is our number one priority. Thank you for supporting us with love and care over the years.”

He has said that the text has “turned [his] Upside-Down Perspective”.

The multi-talented star shared at the time: “She said she didn’t need to have me to love me. She loved me without expectations.”

Dan recounted how they “ditched the lawyer for lunch,” a meal that marked a new beginning for the pair.

He added on TikTok: “It feels like another first date. We called off the divorce.”

The music star explained how the message inspired the band’s song “Follow You”.

“I wrote this song after I got that text message,” he wrote.

Dan and Aja seek therapy after deciding to reconcile to get their relationship back on track.

He previously said: “We’ve been doing marriage counseling and put a lot of effort into keeping our family strong.

“Luckily for us, we got through it. If that wasn’t our case, there were a lot of people who paved the way before us and still raised great kids together, or continued to be friends, or whatever. What. Relationships. Complicated.”

The “Radioactive” producer insists his relationship with Aja isn’t “perfect”, but says all couples have their flaws.

He added: “There’s no such thing as a perfect relationship. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, and that’s okay; sometimes people split up a bit and they end up getting back together, and that’s okay. We have this obsession with perfection right now. I think it’s really Dangerous because everyone has false expectations and hopes for this beautiful, perfect marriage or life partner, and it’s going to be perfect — but it’s not.”
