Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) and Germany’s DFS Aviation Services (DAS) have signed a contract for the supply of an air traffic control (ATC) system that will increase the capacity and quality standards of the city’s airspace.

A flexible and scalable digital platform that provides tower and approach controllers with a comprehensive set of tools to safely and efficiently manage traffic flow in Dubai and the Northern UAE airspace. The platform supports sequencing of departing aircraft. Deliverables include a test and validation platform, as well as contingency and operating systems for each airport.
DFS Aviation Services, a subsidiary of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, controls air traffic at several airports in Germany and sells air traffic control-related products and services worldwide, while the ANSPs at the four airports in Dubai have worked closely together Many years.
It has been agreed to deliver more air traffic control systems to ensure uninterrupted operations while maintaining high capacity and standards in Dubai City and the northern emirate. The work involved equipping the tower with the Electronic Flight Strip System (EFS), which assists tower air traffic controllers in managing incoming and outgoing aircraft, as well as those on the ground.
The German company also supplies the web-based information management system (IMS) for the approach center. This provides all internal and external stakeholders involved in the process with a wide range of relevant information quickly and easily, such as weather data or air and ground position displays of radar targets.
