He tweeted: “The indictment of Trump would be a national disaster. It is un-American for a ruling party to use police powers to arrest its political opponents. During the arrest of then-candidate John Kerry using campaign finance tricks, the Liberals will cry out – and rightly so. Principles transcend partisanship… This will mark a dark moment in American history and will undermine the public Trust in our electoral system itself.”

The Republican presidential nominee strongly opposed indicting Trump after reports that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office requested meetings with law enforcement ahead of possible indictments.

“Prosecutors should apply the same standards as anyone else: this would not be a criminal prosecution (at best a misdemeanor) in any other case. Make no mistake. Our entire country is on thin ice right now, and we cannot politicize the justice system , or we will reach tipping point,” he wrote in another tweet.

Exhorting that Americans should be allowed to choose who runs them, he urged the Manhattan District Attorney to “reconsider this action and set aside partisan politics in order to protect the Constitutional Republic.”

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has presented evidence to a New York grand jury that Trump paid $130,000 during the 2016 presidential campaign to porn star Stormy Daniels, who threatened to make his alleged extramarital affair public. Trump has denied the allegations, and his lawyers accused Daniels of racketeering.

Ramaswamy slammed the GOP’s “deafening” silence on news of Trump’s possible indictment, and he asked fellow presidential candidates Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley to urge Prague to “abandon its commitment to America’s 45th term.” The President’s Witch Hunt”.

“This is about principles, not one person. This is about our country, not one person. The silence from others in the Republican field is deafening,” he said. “That’s not the America I know. That’s not the America my parents came to. That’s not the America our Founding Fathers started 250 years ago. That’s the Banana Republic thing.”
