“The 5th Dubai Fitness Challenge will bring friends, family, colleagues and the community together to improve their health and well-being and enjoy outdoor activities,” the Dubai Government Media Office said on Wednesday.
In addition to the Expo 2020 venue, a fitness village will also appear on Kite Beach. Dubai Run and Dubai Ride will also return.
The challenge was first initiated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Committee five years ago. He is often spotted taking part in challenges around the city.
The media office said that more detailed information will be released in the coming weeks, including registration information and a complete lineup of events.
The media office added: “It is expected that more than 1 million residents and tourists will participate in this year’s challenge, so everyone who plans to participate is encouraged to start setting their fitness and health goals now.”
