Dave & Buster’s Entertainment Inc.’s latest results showed consumers’ willingness to spend on events and experiences remains strong as the company reported higher profits and sales in the latest quarter.
The entertainment and dining venues company reported net income of $39.1 million, or 80 cents a share, for the fourth quarter ended Jan. 29, compared with $25.7 million, or 52 cents a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected 70 cents a share.
Revenue rose to $563.8 million from $343.1 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $531.8 million.
Chief Executive Officer Chris Morris said the quarter’s results were driven by strong comparable walk-in sales growth and the continued recovery of its special events business toward pre-pandemic normal levels.
