World No. 2 Jabir to face 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu Defending her Mubadala World Tennis Championships title in Abu Dhabi on December 16.

Last year, Jaber became the first Arab to play and win the annual Mubadala World Tennis Championships at Zayed Sports City.
The 28-year-old faced Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic in the headlines and made a memorable 4-6, 6-3, (10-8) run victory, to the delight of the raucous crowd. Inside the International Tennis Center.
“It’s always exciting to play in Abu Dhabi,” Jaber said ahead of the three-day tournament, which will take place from December 16 to 18. “I’ve had a fantastic experience there in 2021 and I don’t want to lose my chance to defend the title this year.
“Apart from the game itself, I’m excited to meet my fans there – I think they’re very special because they’ve supported me in every game I’ve played this year.”
On the other side of the net will be Raducanu, who made history by becoming the first male or female qualifier to win a Grand Slam singles title. Raducanu is the first player since Serena Williams in 2014 to not drop a set at the U.S. Open women’s singles title.
“I’m delighted to finally make my debut in Abu Dhabi,” Radukanu said. “I’ve heard good news about the fans and their support and I can’t wait to play in front of all of them.”
