Dennis van Orten’s 12-year-old daughter wants to follow in her acting footsteps and is taking drama lessons.
Betsy — Denise with ex-partner Lee Mead, 41 — told her parents she would love to be an actress or a school teacher, and while she’s too young to know for sure, she’s been taking acting classes, and Already her talent for the art form has impressed her former soap star mom.
Denise, 48, told My Weekly: “My daughter Bessie is a very good actress.
“She didn’t work at an agency and I never pushed her because I’m not a pushy parent, but she took drama classes.”
Regardless, she has the full support of her mother.
She continued: “I’m not sure what Bessie wants to do when she grows up because she’s only 12.
“One day she said she wanted to be an actress and the next day she wanted to be a school teacher.
“But no matter what she wants to do, I will support her and show her the same love and understanding I get from my own mum and dad.”
Denise performed “The Big Breakfast” in the West End and Broadway musical “Chicago,” playing Rosie Hart.
She played Prudence Wallace on episode 19 of the recently axed long-running soap opera “Neighbors,” while she also played Karin Smart on “EastEnders.”
Denise recently admitted that she lied to get her coveted role on “The Big Breakfast.”
The host started out as Weather Girl on the iconic Channel 4 show – but she admitted lying about taking a measurement class.
In her new book, A Little Bit of Me, Denise writes: “I haven’t lost my creativity when it comes to finding a job and asserting my suitability for a particular role.
“I’m not shy about it, and sometimes I even add things to my resume that I haven’t done.”
Denise is willing to mislead the show’s bosses to further her career.
The “Gloves Off” actress – who then hosted the show with Johnny Vaughan – explained: “All I know is this is a fantastic opportunity and Channel 4 is rebooting The show, that’s where I come in.
“According to my words, I went all out, lied about taking a meteorology course, and assured them that I could write my own weather forecast, and no one could accuse me of not being a try!”
